Sophia began her dance journey with the Milwaukee Trinity Irish Dance Academy at age five. At age nine, she joined Steps of Grace Ballet School where she was trained in classical ballet, modern technique, and contemporary. Through Steps of Grace she performed in original ballets: Max Lucado inspired “You Are Special”(2011) “His Gift”(2013, 2017) and “Moses”(2017). She danced the solo roles of Miriam in “Moses” and Mary in “His Gift”(2017). Sophia continued training at Acts 17:28 Dance her senior year as a conservatory student where she learned the importance of integrating worship into a daily practice of technique and expression. 

In 2019, she joined Magnum Opus Ballet as a trainee, dancing alongside the company in the ballet Full Light. Since then, she has enjoyed performing and touring purposeful ballets by artistic director Abigail Henninger and various movements by guest choreographers including Randall Flynn and Robyn Movsessian. Sophia had the privilege of setting her own choreography on this past year’s trainee dancers for outreach performances.

Sophia is looking forward to beginning her eighth season with the company as a lead company artist.
